This area of France is well-known for having a wide selection of superb golf courses to suit all standards and all budgets. On this page we describe local courses, providing some idea of the facilities available there, and also a link to their websites, where applicable.
La Bretesche
The course at La Bretesche is in Missillac, a 5-minute drive from La Roche Bernard in the Loire-Atlantique department. Situated amongst glorious woodland, and with a dramatic 15th century chateau and lake as a backdrop, it is hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a round of golf. Booking is advisable here at popular times of the year, so why not ask us to do it for you before you arrive?
The 18-hole course is a 6015 metre par 72, and also offers a putting green, pro shop, club hire and restaurant.
Golf at La Baule
The International golf course at La Baule, which is less than 30 minutes from La Roche Bernard, is set amongst chestnut and oak woods. It offers two attractive and fairly challenging 18-hole courses (The Lucien Barriere course at 6055 metres and The Dianne Barriere-Desseigne course at 6301 metres) both of which are Par 72, plus a 9-hole course at 2961 metres and Par 36.
Why not get to grips with your golf game and practise your swing at the training centre designed by Jack Nicklaus?
Green Fees for a single round range from 40 euros to 62 euros depending on the time of year, with discounts offered when multiple rounds are booked. You should book your teeing off times 24 hours in advance.
Savenay
Savenay, 20 minutes due south from La Roche Bernard, hosts another great course. The 6340 metre, par 70 course, is situated on the Sillon de Bretagne, overlooking the Loire river. It is a high quality course running along open valleys and through Chestnut woodland with lakes. There is a shop and restaurant.
Other Local Courses
Nantes-Vigneux – Close to the Route Departmentale 81, near Vigneux-de-Bretagne. 18-hole, 5851 metre, par 72 course , situated at the heart of a 130 acre wooded domain, through which runs the Cens river. It is a course which requires more precision than power.
Saint-Jean-de-Monts – Avenue des Pays de la Loire, Saint-Jean-de-Monts. 5962 metre, par 72 course.
