Our first newsletter

We’re pleased to have sent the first newsletter to our growing membership – the first since we launched the site in January. It has generated plenty of traffic and feedback and so we thought it would be relevant to present it here on the blog for our visitors too.

Are you Number 10?

Are you Number 10?

Had a very busy Sunday this weekend as we attended the AIKB Kermesse fete in Laniscat, selling both my Usborne Books and also promoting our new MyShoppingGenie Internet Marketing business. I’m especially excited about it today as we’ve just received our first commission cheque!

Did you know that 9 out of 10 people do not recognise a genuine opportunity when they see it? Well, we are looking for Number 10!

Usborne Books at Elizabeille

Usborne Books at Elizabeille

Back in Brittany, after a busy few weeks seeing my son in Germany and then back to the UK sorting out bits and bobs. Just about cleared the house now. Haven’t had any interest in our house sale so it’s now on the rental market until things pick up.

I’m delighted to announce that there is now a permanent Usborne Books stall in Elizabeille, the artisan, craft and brocante gallery that’s just opened in Laurenan.

Are your rental bookings up or down compared with 2009?

We have heard a lot of anecdotal, and sometimes conflicting, views on how the French Property Rental market is standing up to the economic crisis and declining value of the pound. We have certainly noticed how much more expensive it is to buy food, pay bills, and eat out in France this year. How are…

Disrupted in France by Volcanic activity

We flew to France (Bristol – Bordeaux) 2 days before the volcanic eruption in Iceland and are due to fly back next Sunday (25th April). In between we have driven up to our house near La Roche Bernard borrowing my mother-in-laws’ car. With the easing of restrictions we think that we will be ok to…

How can I type accented french characters with an English keyboard?

How to use the numeric keypad to enter french accented characters

This is a question that crops up from time to time, and indeed has frustrated me on occasion too.
